A 6U VMEbus single-board computer driven by a 1GHz PowerPC® builds the interface to a fast gamma camera used for analog to digital conversion of image data. The acquisition of data is performed in parallel with the image processing functions. The CPU board is equipped with a Fast Ethernet, 4 COMs, IDE and keyboard/mouse. The two PC-MIP® mezzanine slots on the CPU board are used for implementation of the graphics function. The graphics PC-MIP® features an SM731 controller and comes with 16MB integrated graphics RAM, up to 1600x1200 pixels resolution and 16.7 million colors. The PC-MIP® mezzanine delivers enhanced multi-display capabilities and can drive multiple displays at once (DualMon). In this application both a VGA monitor located at the doctor's desk and as a second monitor mounted to the diagnostic device (connected via DVI) show the same content and can be switched off independent of each other.
