Infusion pumps ensure safe intravenous administration of drugs to patients in both critical and routine situations. They deliver the needed drugs with high accuracy and consistency, thus preventing overdosing.

This gateway computer for a system with up to 24 infusion pumps is powered by an MPC5200B processor running at 400 MHz. The unit is equipped with 256MB DDR2 RAM, 16MB Flash and 1GB USB NAND Flash. The DDR2 RAM is soldered and supports ECC. The front interfaces are three USB 2.0 ports, one RS232 UART (via D-Sub) and one Fast Ethernet (via RJ45) plus an LED connected by a GPIO line. Both WLAN (via a PCI Express® card) and Bluetooth are supported for wireless data transfer. The unit's DC/DC converter comes with 4KV isolation as usual for medical applications.

The various standard interfaces make it possible to connect the unit with the hospital, ensuring easy and cost-effective central patient monitoring.
