MEN maintains a close relation with the Fachbereich Elektrotechnik-Feinwerktechnik-Informationstechnik (in close association with the ELSYS) for many years. MEN and FH Nuremberg exchange the latest knowledge in FPGA, PCI, microprocessor etc. technology, or work together on feasability studies (for example JPEG compression in FPGA). Students work on projects at MEN on a regular basis and university professors teach MEN engineers regarding the latest technical insights.
The Institute for Electronic Systems (ELSYS) of Georg-Simon-Ohm university Nuremberg is dedicated to applied research and development for electronic systems for measuring and control in mechatronic applications. Their focus is on modelling, stimulation and simulation, rapid prototyping and real-time emulation for test and design. ELSYS offers project work, development support, training and consulting for the fields of automotive engineering, communications, medical engineering, and others.
