Failures of safety-critical electronic systems as they are used in the avionics market can result in loss of life, substantial financial damage or can severely harm the environment.
As an expert in the field of mission-critical environments, MEN develops and produces computing solutions for aircraft test equipment and in-flight control and communication, developed according to DO-254 and DO-178 and qualified up to DAL-A.
Standard solutions for critical in-flight applications include safe computers with triple-redundant architecture on a single board operating in lockstep-mode, based for example on CompactPCI® and VMEbus.
FPGAs - Field Programmable Gate Arrays - allow individual customization of the hardware at an attractive price even in low quantities. For safety-critical applications our design team is capable of assessing the intrinsic failure modes of FPGAs and make them either detect or correct errors.
Our boards and systems are developed to meet requirements like operating temperature ranges of up to -40 to +85°C, shock, vibration, chemical influence, the option of coating against humidity and others right from the start.
