About ESMini™

ESMini™ is a family of ultra-small rugged Computer-On-Modules. Together with an application-specific carrier board they form a semi-custom solution for industrial, harsh, mobile and mission-critical environments.

With their space-saving dimensions of 95x55mm, for example, ESMini™ modules are well suited for mobile applications. They are a complete computer on one very small board.

They offer all modern serial interfaces via the chipset but can also be equipped with an FPGA to provide industrial I/O like CAN and UART interfaces.

All ESMini™ modules are embedded in a covered frame. This ensures EMC protection and allows efficient conductive cooling. Air cooling is also possible by applying a heat sink on top of the cover. Where operation temperatures are moderate, the module may even do without the frame and cover, with a suitable low-power processor and airflow.

ESMini™ modules are firmly screwed to a carrier board and come with rugged industry-proven connectors supporting high frequency and differential signals. Only soldered components are used to withstand shock and vibration, and the design is optimized for conformal coating.

For evaluation and development purposes a microATX carrier board is available.

Typical Applications

Their form factor and cooling concept makes the ESMini™ SOMs a perfect match for applications in railway and medical engineering, in off-highway vehicles or industrial automation, or other areas where small footprint and rugged design make all the difference.
