Space-Saving for More Storage Capacity
Designed to work in an x86 system environment the G503 offers space for two 2.5" SATA HDDs or SSDs. It delivers as much as four terabytes storage capacity on just one slot based on the robust and compact Eurocard form factor.
The hard disks are controlled by an onboard SATA RAID controller supporting hot-pluggable RAID 0/1 and JBOD directly on the board. Independent of the RAID configuration, which can be set flexibly by a hex switch, the two hard disks will be recognized by the CPU as just one single drive. Thus there is no need for further software or firmware effort.
The board supports a 5 ms HDD power hold-up time for protecting the stored data in case of a power failure. In combination with a CPU card the functionality of the G503 can be extended by, e.g., RAID 5 or additional mirroring of the hard disks.
Based on the CompactPCI Serial standard the G503 is well suited for robust and demanding data processing systems in mobile and industrial markets.
The hard disk carrier is designed for an extended temperature range of -40 to +85°C and conforms to the EN 50155 railway standard.
